James Blunt has a natural talent for singing and song writing. From what I hear, he kind of stumbled upon music and just found out he was good at it. Although he kind of knew this at an early age, he was sidetracked for a number of years serving in the army as a reconnaissance officer, among many other tasks. When he finally finished serving in 2002, he returned to his true love. The result was his first album Back to Bedlam. As good as that album was, I think Blunt has topped himself with his sophomore album All the Lost Souls. Some find it depressing, and I can see how that might be the case - but I find it inspirational. I love both of his albums and they get a good amount of air time in my playlist. I highly suggest picking up a few of his CDs (or just bug me to make you a copy!)
I always wanted the ability to make music, and James Blunt makes it seem so easy. It actually kind of pisses me off. I mean I’m still a huge fan, but I’m definitely jealous of his talent. Oh well, better get back to my guitar lessons…
